I’ve felt this a lot as someone who has bore witness to so much loss and suffering of families I’ve cared for. Who am I to cry? To complain?when so many others would trade places with me in a moment. It’s so complex.
I can't even imagine being in a medical professional and having to watch loss and suffering in families. As a fellow empathetic person, I just feel that it would be so much to carry because I would want to do something to help, and be met with no answers to fix the hurt. Grief is a complex situation - for all types - and honestly, just reading your content reminds me why Child Life Specialists and similar professions are so important for kids and families going through some of the hardest situations they could ever walk through.
This is really beautiful. Thanks for sharing your vulnerability. I think we’ve all been there, as parents, when overstimulation and exhaustion overtake our gratitude. It’s how we respond that matters, and I love the grace and presence of mind you gave yourself to just my fall apart and embrace the moment.
Beautiful, honest words. Thank you for sharing this. You make the world a better place.
